Oyakodon Ingredients

  1. 2 diced clean boneless chicken thighs
  2. 4 large eggs
  3. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  4. 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  5. 3 tablespoons mirin or vinegar
  6. 2 tablespoon Japanese soy sauce
  7. 1 cup chopped onion
  8. 1/2 cup green peas (optional)
  9. 1 cup sliced cabbage
  10. 1/2 cup chopped spring onion
  11. 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  12. 2 cups uncooked whole-grain jasmine rice
  13. 4 cups of water
  14. 1 teaspoon sugar

Recipe For Oyakodon

  1. Wash and rinse the jasmine rice in a bowl. Boil and cook rice in 4 cups of water in a pan on high flame.
  2. In a bowl, mix chicken thighs with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon vinegar or mirin, and keep it aside for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In another saucepan over medium-high heat, add the stock, soy sauce, mirin or vinegar, sugar, and bring it to a boil.
  4. Add the chicken thighs, and simmer in the stock for 10 more minutes.
  5. Add the chopped onions, cabbage, green peas, and pour the beaten eggs mixture over it.
  6. Bring it to simmer then covered and cook for 3 more minutes.
  7. Take a serving bowl, add cooked rice in it, and put a scoop of cooked eggs over it.
  8. Garnish with chopped spring onions and cilantro. Delicious instant Oyakodon is ready, enjoy.
