Gluten Free Besan ladoo Recipe

Besan ladoo is a rich and delicious sweet ball, made generally made of gram flour, sugar, ghee, milk, nuts, and cardamom powder. It is an Indian sweet that is made on almost all special occasions and festivals in India. This besan ladoo recipe is sugar-free and gluten-free. This delicious dessert is travel friendly that lasts for three weeks if stored in an airtight container.

 

Gluten Free Besan ladoo Recipe

Besan is also called chickpea flour, gram flour, or garbanzo bean flour. It has been used in Indian cooking for ages, produced from a type of chickpeas called Bengal grams. Gram flour helps to burn calories and lower the levels of the glycemic index.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup coarse besan/ gram flour
  2. 1 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter)
  3. 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  4. 1/2 cup dry fruits
  5. 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  6. 1 cup jaggery or powdered sugar
  7. 1 tablespoon milk (optional)
  8. 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Heat clarified butter (ghee) in a nonstick pan.
  2. Add coarse gram flour and roast it for 20 minutes until turns aromatic and light brown in color.
  3. Roast while stirring it continuously.
  4. Add water if required to prevent burning or sticking the bottom of the pan.
  5. Add jaggery, or powdered sugar and mix well.
  6. Roast for 3 more minutes.
  7. Then add dedicated coconut, cardamom powder, and mix rost for 2 more minutes.
  8. Turn off the flame and let it cool for a minute.
  9. Start making balls from the mixture and press crushed dry fruits on top.
  10. Besan laddoos are ready.
