Indian Chicken Curry Recipe
Chicken Curry Ingredients
- 500 g chicken, cut in big pieces, skinless
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 3-4 tablespoon coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 2 tablespoon chicken masala
- a handful of chopped fresh coriander leaves
- water as required
Instructions
- Clean and wash chicken and take it into a large bowl.
- Marinate chicken with red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder.
- Combine everything well and coat into chicken pieces.
- Cover and refrigerate this marinated chicken for at least 60 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker or in a nonstick cooking pot over medium flame.
- Add onions, garlic, and ginger and cook for 2-3 minutes over medium flame.
- Then add chopped tomatoes and salt and cook till oil surfaces on sides.
- Add chicken masala, garam masala, coconut milk, and cook for another one minute.
- Next, add marinated chicken and roast into all spices for 2 minutes.
- Add water as required, depending on the consistency of gravy you desire.
- Cover the pressure cooker or pot with a lid and simmer for 5 minutes or until chicken is tender and properly cooked.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati or steamed rice.
