Delicious Instant Oyakodon Recipe
Oyakodon is a traditional Japanese rice bowl meal, made of chicken meat, beaten egg, scallion, and other ingredients. All ingredients are simmered collectively to form a soup made with soy sauce and savory stew. It is served on the top of a bowl with a generous amount of cooked rice in it.
Oyakodon Ingredients
- 2 diced clean boneless chicken thighs
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons mirin or vinegar
- 2 tablespoon Japanese soy sauce
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup green peas (optional)
- 1 cup sliced cabbage
- 1/2 cup chopped spring onion
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- 2 cups uncooked whole-grain jasmine rice
- 4 cups of water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Recipe For Oyakodon
- Wash and rinse the jasmine rice in a bowl. Boil and cook rice in 4 cups of water in a pan on high flame.
- In a bowl, mix chicken thighs with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon vinegar or mirin, and keep it aside for at least 15 minutes.
- In another saucepan over medium-high heat, add the stock, soy sauce, mirin or vinegar, sugar, and bring it to a boil.
- Add the chicken thighs, and simmer in the stock for 10 more minutes.
- Add the chopped onions, cabbage, green peas, and pour the beaten eggs mixture over it.
- Bring it to simmer then covered and cook for 3 more minutes.
- Take a serving bowl, add cooked rice in it, and put a scoop of cooked eggs over it.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and cilantro. Delicious instant Oyakodon is ready, enjoy.
