How To Make KFC Chicken Recipe At Home

How To Make KFC Chicken Recipe At Home

Ingredients

  1. 1 chicken cut into big pieces
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1 cup buttermilk
  4. 1 cup all-purpose flour or panko bread crumbs
  5. 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  6. 1 teaspoon chili powder
  7. 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  8. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  9. 1 teaspoon dried sage herb
  10. 1 teaspoon dried basil
  11. 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
  12. 1 teaspoon pepper
  13. 1 tablespoon onion powder
  14. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  15. 1 tablespoons paprika
  16. 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  17. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, break one egg and add buttermilk to it.
  2. Coat the chicken pieces into this egg-butter mixture and keep it aside.
  3. In a large plate, tale all-purpose flour or panko bread crumbs and add all the herbs and spices to it.
  4. Mix well. Take each chicken piece from the egg-buttermilk mixture, and roll it over seasoned flour until fully covered.
  5. Repeat for all chicken pieces.
  6. Deep fry all chicken pieces until golden brown on both sides and thoroughly cooked.
  7. Once cooked, remove all chicken pieces on a paper towel or tissue to discard excess oil.
  8. Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.
  9. To bake chicken pieces or cook in an air fryer, brush the chicken pieces all sides with oil and place on a baking tray in an air fryer or microwave oven tray.
  10. Bake chicken pieces for 10-12 minutes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees C, then turn, brush oil and bake for 10 more minutes until golden.
  11. Serve this homemade KFC chicken with lemon slices, ketchup, potato salad, or a dipping sauce.
