Veg Soya Keema or Minced Soybean Keema is made of minced or finely chopped soybean granules, that tastes similar to the mutton keema or chicken keema. Soybean chunks are minced and sauteed in onion-tomato paste added with spices and served with chapati, naan, or rice. It is a healthy meal packed with protein which is good for kids and grownups.

Soya Chunks are a vegetarian snack that consists of high protein, polyunsaturated fats, calcium, iron, and omega 3 fatty acids. They are made of soy flour and contains protein equal to that of eggs, milk, and meat. Find below its ingredients and recipe.

Ingredients

  1. 200 grams soya chunks
  2. 1 finely chopped onion
  3. 1 medium-size tomato pureed
  4. 1/2 cup capsicum (optional)
  5. 2 small size potatoes
  6. 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  7. 1 tablespoon oil
  8. 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  9. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  10. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  11. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  12. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  13. 1 teaspoon kitchen king masala or chicken masala
  14. 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  15. 1/2teaspoon kasuri methi
  16. salt as required
  17. 2 cup of water

 

 

Instructions

  1. Wash soya chunks in water and soak them in hot water for 20 minutes. Then grind it to form mince.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
  3. Add onions and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Next, add ginger garlic paste and saute till the rawness disappears.
  5. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and cook for 2 more minutes.
  6. Next, add tomato puree and mix well. Now add potatoes, capsicum, and stir well till everything blends well.
  7. Add soya keema and mix it well. Add coriander powder, salt, garam masala, kitchen king masala or chicken masala and mix well.
  8. Add water and combine it thoroughly.
  9. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook till two whistles.
  10. Once ready turn off the flame and allow pressure to release.
  11. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
  12. Veg Soya Keema is ready. Serve hot with salad, chapati, or rice.
