Stuffed Bhindi Recipe - Stuffed Okra

Stuffed Bhindi/okra, also known as bhindi masala is an Indian cuisine made with a filling of bhindi/okra. Different spices are used to prepare it's filling. Ingredients

  • 500 gram Okra/Bhindi
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dry mango powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion seeds
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • salt to taste
  • 2 chopped tomatoes

Instructions

  • Wash bhindi/okra and wipe them dry.
  • Cut the tip head of okra.
  • Now slit in the middle of all okra into two halves in equal length.
  • Take a pan add 1 tablespoon oil and heat it on medium flame.
  • Shallow fry all the okra till they become soft and take them out on a plate.
  • In the same pan, heat oil, add mustard seeds, asafoetida.
  • Now Cook tomatoes for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  • Add all the dry spices and mix well.
  • Finally, add okra and mix all the spices into okra.
  • Close the lid and let it cook on slow flame for 3-4 minutes.
  • Stuffed Bhindi/okra is ready.
  • Remove them on a serving plate and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
