Easy Chicken Biryani Recipe
Chicken Biryani Ingredients
- 500 gm basmati rice
- 500 gm cut boneless chicken pieces
- 2 medium-size onions
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 2 cup of water
- 3 medium-size tomato puree
- salt and pepper according to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 4 cloves
- 2 cinnamon stick
- 3 bay leaves
- 2 black cardamom
- 3 peppercorns
- 2 tablespoon almond and cashew nuts
- 1 tablespoon raisins
- 10 strands of saffron
- 1 tablespoon ghee
Easy Chicken Biryani Recipe
- Marinate the chicken pieces with dry spices and lemon juice and keep it aside.
- Wash and soak basmati rice for half an hour in two cups of water.
- Drain the water. Add water, salt, and one tablespoon ghee in a big vessel.
- Add the soaked rice to it and bring it to boil.
- Let the basmati rice cook.
- In a round bottom pan, heat ghee/oil and add sliced onions, cumin seeds, cloves, black cardamom, onion, salt, turmeric, and saute it.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and saute onions.
- Pour tomato puree and almond cashew nuts paste into the pan and let everything cook till you see oil separating.
- Add chicken pieces and slowly cook everything on a slow flame with a lid closed.
- Check if the chicken is cooked by puncturing a fork in it.
- The chicken will take 20 minutes to cook.
- Once the chicken is ready to add all the dry masala powder and mix well.
- Now its time to add basmati rice
- Add rice and cook for 10 minutes on a slow flame don’t forget to close the lid.
- Open the lid and garnish the top with caramelized onions, raisins, saffron, fried nuts, and fresh coriander leaves.
- Chicken biryani is ready.
