Sugar-Free Strawberry Chia Seed Jam Recipe

This homemade sugar-free strawberry chia seed jam has no pectins or preservatives. Sugar-free pectins, like Sure-Jell, can give your jams and preserves more body. These may be especially useful when making strawberry jam since strawberries have natural pectin in them in fewer amounts.

Jams and jellies have high calories and fewer nutrients. They contain high sugar content and preservatives that may have a risk of obesity and heart disorder if consumed on a regular basis. Homemade jams and jellies are safe, preservative-free, and if stored in a refrigerator in dry-dark place can last for 20 days.

  1. 2 cups chopped fresh strawberries
  2. 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  3. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  4. 1 tablespoon maple syrup

 

Maple Syrup

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, on medium-high flame, heat strawberries while stirring continuously until strawberries soften.
  2. Break the mixture with a fork to break evenly to form a jam consistency.
  3. Add chia seeds, maple syrup, and lemon juice and mix well.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool for 5 minutes until it thickens.
  5. Store it in an airtight jar and freeze it to last for up to 3 months.
  6. Serve immediately or put sugar-free strawberry chia seed jam in a glass jar and refrigerate it for a few hours before serving.
  7. Spread on toast, and enjoy.
  8. This recipe can also be used to prepare raspberries jam, blueberries jam, blackberries jam, and pineapple jam.
