Kathi Roll Recipe
Ingredients
For Filling
- 1 cup grated carrots
- 3/4 cup thinly sliced capsicum
- 100-gram cottage cheese or tofu, chopped in cubes
- 1 cup thinly sliced cabbage
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoon Veeba barbeque sauce
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon green chili sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon soya sauce
- salt to taste
For Wrap
- 2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon oil
- water as required
Instructions
For Filling
- Heat oil in a frying pan on medium flame.
- Fry tofu or paneer cubes for 2 minutes and take out in a plate.
- Next, add cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste and cook till rawness fades.
- Add the grated carrots, thinly sliced capsicum, and sliced cabbage and cook for 3 minutes.
- Now, add coriander powder, roasted cumin powder, turmeric powder, and black pepper powder, salt, and cook for one minute.
- Lower the flame and add tomato sauce, Veeba barbeque sauce, red chili sauce, green chili sauce, soy sauce.
- Add tofu or paneer cubes, red chili powder, lemon juice, and stir fry for 2 more minutes.
- Stir fry until vegetables are roasted and soft.
- Once the filling is ready keep it aside and get ready with the wrap.
For Wrap
- In a mixing bowl, take whole wheat flour and knead the soft dough with water.
- Divide 5 cm size balls of the dough and make a large-sized chapati of it using a rolling pin and rolling board.
- Roast this chapati on a Tawa or pan, drop a few drops of oil on both sides of the chapati to make it crispers.
- Now place the stuffing in the middle of the Chapati, and wrap the chapati to form a roll.
- Repeat the same for the remaining dough.
- Veg Kathi rolls are ready now, serve them immediately.
