This Prawn Coconut Curry is prepared by cooking prawns with chili, coconut, tamarind. In addition, herbs, spices, and lemon juice are added to sour the coconut milk. You can serve this Prawn Coconut Curry with steamed rice or wheat flatbread.

Ingredients

  • 500 gm medium prawn
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 medium onion chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 5-6 garlic pods chopped
  • 6-7 black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup tamarind paste
  • 4 green chili split into pieces
  • fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • salt to taste
  • Water as required

Instructions

  • First of all, wash and clean the prawns. Take prawns in a brown and add crushed garlic pods, ginger paste, salt, lemon juice, and red chili powder and marinate it.
  • Keep it aside then heat oil in a frying pan, add remaining garlic and cook it for 1 minute. Next add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and black pepper and cook for 1 minute.
  • Now add green chilies, chopped onions, turmeric powder, and Kashmiri red chili powder and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Transfer the prawns to the frying pan and add tamarind paste and salt to it and mix well. Lastly, add coconut milk and water to it and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Prawn Coconut Curry is ready, garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot with steamed rice or wheat flatbread.
