Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ghee/oil
  • 1 tablespoon raisins and almonds each
  • 2 green cardamom
  • saffron a pinch
  • edible yellow color a pinch

Instructions

  • Clean and wash the rice. 
  • Soak rice for 15 minutes in water and strain it after 15 minutes.
  • In a pan add ghee/oil, cardamon, and edible yellow color and mix it.
  • Add 1 cup water and stir.
  • Bring it to boil then add rice.
  • Add 1 cup hot water, sugar, raisins and saffron.
  • Stir and cook on low flame and close lid of the pan.
  • Once the Sweet Kesar Rice has cooked you will get the aroma of Kesar and raisins.
  • Take out in a serving plate and garnish with almonds and raisins.
