This tilapia fish fry recipe is made with fresh Tilapia fish, seasonings, and minced garlic and onions. Tilapia fish is a lean freshwater fish that is delicious in taste and has fewer fish-bones. This fish takes very little time to cook and goes well with any side dish. This tilapia fish fry goes well with grilled or steamed veggies, rice, and roasted potatoes.

Tilapia fish is a lean fish that contains fewer calories and fat, but high omega-3 fatty acids, potassium, phosphorus, niacin, and vitamin B12. It is a warm freshwater fish originating from Africa, also found in Asia, America, and Europe, dwelling in shallow rivers, ponds, and lakes.

Ingredients

  1. 4-6 tilapia filets
  2. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  3. 1/4 tablespoon minced onions
  4. 1/4 tablespoon thyme
  5. 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  6. 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  7. 2 teaspoons garlic
  8. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  9. 1 teaspoon dried basil
  10. 2-3 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  11. 2 lemon, juiced
  12. lemon slices and parsley leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry spices, garlic, and minced onions in a bowl and coat each tilapia filet with seasoning mixture on every side.
  2. Take a wide frying pan and heat olive oil in it.
  3. Place all tilapia pieces in the pan and fry them on low flame.
  4. Next, brush lemon juice n each tilapia filet as it cooks.
  5. Shallow fry all filets until golden and crispy on both sides.
  6. Once cooked, turn off the flame and take out in a serving plate.
  7. Tilapia Fish Fry is ready to serve.
  8. Serve it hot with steamed rice and top it with lemon slices and parsley leaves.
