Gulab Jamun Ingredients

  1. 1 bowl semolina
  2. 1 bowl sugar for sugar syrup (chasni)
  3. 4 cups of milk ( or as per the requirement to adjust the consistency of dough )
  4. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  5. 2 tablespoon purified butter (ghee)
  6. 2-3 cups of water
  7. 1/4 cup chopped almonds and pistachios (optional)
  8. 3-4 saffron strands (optional)
  9. purified butter or oil for deep frying

Semolina Gulab Jamun Recipe

  1. First, roast the semolina in a pan on a medium flame until aromatic.
  2. Then gradually add milk slowly and stir until the milk blends in the semolina and mixtures thicken and leaves sides of the pan.
  3. Now turn off the flame and let the semolina mixture cool.
  4. When the mixture cools down, knead the semolina like flour to form a dough.
  5. Add purified butter to knead and smoothen the flour.
  6. Now prepare the sugar syrup meanwhile on the gas.
  7. Add sugar in water and bring it to a boil.
  8. Add cardamom powder and stir the sugar mixture.
  9. You can also add saffron strands at this time.
  10. Now take a medium-sized dough from the semolina mixture and make one inch round balls of it in a way that no cracks are formed on its covering.
  11. Now heat the oil in a pan and fry the gulab jamun in it till it becomes light brown.
  12. When all the semolina gulab jamuns are cooked, drop them in the hot sugar syrup, and simmer on low flame for 10 minutes.
  13. Now semolina gulab jamuns are ready to eat, serve immediately with almond on top.
