This Easy Split Pea Soup Recipe is vegetarian because we haven’t used ham in it. To keep Split Pea Soup delicious add coconut oil, and smoked paprika. You can prepare it in both a crockpot, instant pot, pressure cooker, and a wok. When you are preparing this split pea soup recipe in a Crock-Pot, just mix all ingredients into your crockpot and cook on high flame for 3 to 4 hours.

While in an instant pot it will take lesser time and save time by pressure cooking. To make this recipe in a wok, just heat coconut oil and saute onions and garlic until soft. Add the carrots and celery and cook them to turn till soften.

Next, add all the other ingredients and bring the soup to a boil until the peas are cooked and the soup has thickened. Add limited water if needed to balance the evaporation.

  9. 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  10. 1 bay leaf

Split Pea Soup Recipe in a Pressure Cooker

  1. Chop the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic in a pressure cooker and also all other ingredients to it.
  2. Close the lid of the pressure cooker, and let everything cook for 15 minutes.
  3. After 15 minutes let the pressure release the steam naturally.
  4. Once pressure is released open the lid, and give the soup a nice stir.
